About the Summit:

The 12th Annual Statewide WV Sexual Assault and Stalking Symposium and SART Summit is scheduled for Tuesday, April 10 and Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, WV.

This two day training will focus on the impact of trauma for victims and first responders. The SART Summit will provide information, resources and tools to improve SART response in the community. During the two days participants will gain a better understanding of sexual assault victimology, which is critical in providing an effective victim-centered response.

National experts in the field will be keynote speakers, Roger Canaff, J.D. and Wendy J. Murphy, J.D. with featured speakers being Susan Folwell, Sally Laskey and Mike Milnor.

The information is geared toward a wide range of service providers, including advocates, Adult Protection Services, health care workers, social workers, counselors, law enforcement, prosecutors, and health care providers.

The West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information and Services (WV FRIS) is happy to announce that a limited number of scholarships for registration cost, lodging and/or travel are available for this year's training. Although it is a two day event, participants can choose to attend only one of the training days. If interested, download and complete the scholarship application and return it along with your registration form no later than February 24th, 2012 to sfarcin@ma.rr.com or by fax to 304 368-0025.
